Simpson, who replaced the injured Michael Mifsud after scoring three goals in two games for City Reserves, told Sky Blue World: "Personally I thought I did quite well, I've been begging the manager to give me a chance and he did on Saturday so I hope what I did was enough to keep me there.
"I just have to keep on improving and keep showing the manager I can do a job. I'm a striker but playing out wide does not bother me because my first concern is doing a job for Coventry so I will go wherever I'm needed and do the job to the best of my ability.
"We have a couple of games coming up in quick succession as well so hopefully I can keep my spot."
