There were chants of "Deegan" after the Irishman scored the only goal of the game to give Coventry a 1-0 victory against Queens Park Rangers on Saturday.
Speaking to Sky Blues Player, Deegan said: "I heard it once or twice and it gives you that little lift and that little buzz, you want to go out and do more. It's nice to hear they are calling my name so early."
Speaking about the trip to Newcastle United on Wednesday night, Deegan said: "I think the three points were massive because going into the Newcastle game it has given us a big boost. Hopefully we can kick on and get something.
"I don't think it's going to be as easy as people think it's going to be but we'll go up there and give it a go and hopefully we'll get our reward. Maybe three points, who knows?"
