SISU Slammed By Enemy Guitarist

Andy Hopkins from Coventry based band The Enemy has slammed Coventry City's owners SISU.

Hopkins told SImon Gilbert of the Coventry Telegraph: "Obviously we are as angry as everyone else in the city about what’s going on with our football club.

“The beating heart of our community has been torn out from within us and, no matter how much we scream and shout about it, we seem to fall upon deaf ears; it’s infuriating and soul destroying.

“I find it incredible The FA are yet to step in and demand a full enquiry with all the grey areas and questions that are not being answered. If we were a Premier League side things would be dramatically different.

“Yes, of course Sisu saved the club from the brink, they have had four years to turn around the plight of the club, but all that time they have never answered basic questions about what and who they are, and have just stripped the club of its best assets, completely mismanaged the club’s finances and seen us relegated.

“Their complete mismanagement of the club has seen the situation manifest into a nightmare beyond comprehension.

“Transparency from the start is all we have ever wanted, instead we have a club playing 35 minutes away, to 1,500 people a week, governed by a faceless organisation demanding a miracle from a talented bunch of local lads and an impressive rising manager. It’s a disgrace.

“The FA should be ashamed of themselves for not intervening – a whole generation of Coventry kids will be passed by and won’t have the glory of some amazing nights that us older lot had in the Premier League at Highfield Road, some of the best memories I have ever had and will treasure forever.”
