Coventry City booked another season of Championship football when Marlon King's 82nd minute goal was enough to give the Sky Blues a 2-1 win over Millwall.
The win not only moved City up to sixteenth in the table but saw Coventry go twelve points clear of third from bottom Scunthorpe, who won 2-1 at 21st placed Crystal Palace with four games to go.
Whilst Scunthorpe could reach the 52 points that City have attained, the Sky Blues only have a minus three goal difference compared to the goal difference of Scunthorpe who visit the Ricoh Arena on Friday afternoon, who have a minus 36 goal difference.
City's victory took them above Middlesbrough and Barnsley who drew 1-1, whilst Derby who play at QPR on Monday night are 19th and Doncaster who lost 3-1 at Hull City are 20th.
Preston remain second bottom but are three points better off after beating bottom side Sheffield United 3-1. Micky Adams side had former Sky Blue Michael Doyle booked in the match which means it will take something very special for the Blades to avoid the drop.
