Former City striker John Hartson has said that he was shocked by the news that Celtic boss Gordon Strachan had accepted a bid for him from West Brom.
The Welsh international whose goals could not save City from Premiership relegation in 2001 told the Daily Record: "I had no intention or desire to leave the club this summer and I would like the fans to know that. "I love the club so much, in fact, that I'd spoken to friends recently about staying on for another year and ending my career in Glasgow. But now this. It has knocked me for six. "All I can do now is discuss with my agent what happens next and I'll do that in the coming days. But right now I need some time to digest what has just happened. It has come as a bombshell."
Craig Bellamy who played with Hartson at Coventry,Celtic and for Wales,is attracting interest from Martin Jol at Tottenham.
Christian Negouai who played twice for City whilst on loan from Manchester City in January/February 05 finished the season just gone playing for Belgium side Standard Liege. The midfielder was on the score-sheet for his latest club, scoring against Westerlo after only eleven seconds which is a Belgium League record.
