The fire service were called to Highfield Road at around 6pm where the Sky Blue Stand which had been boarded up prior to demolition, was ablaze. Eight fire engines were at the scene.
At 9pm, there was still a small fire inside the stand with the offices badly damaged . One fireman at the scene was asked if it was arson and said that it was.
