The Sky Blue Trust have issued the following statement for tonight's game:
Tonight's Checkatrade Trophy Semi Final against Wycombe at the Ricoh Arena could lead to the first hint of success for the club in almost thirty years.
Whilst some can look back on that glorious afternoon at Wembley in 1987 against Tottenham an entire generation has loyally backed the team season after season but known only disappointment and heartache.
It is to thank these young supporters that the Sky Blue Trust is organising a colourful vista for the players tonight to show them that the fans are fully behind them, ready to fully back them on the Sky Blue March to the Arch.
A team of Trust volunteers will be placing a coloured A4 piece of paper on as many seats as time will allow prior to kick off. As the teams come out all supporters are asked to stand and hold up the paper they have been given, creating a sea of Sky Blue and White stripes. This vision, accompanied by a long and loud chorus of the Sky Blue song will, hopefully, encourage the players to give that extra yard, strain every sinew and propel us to Wembley.
This, like too many seasons before it, has been a massive disappointment but tonight offers a small window of hope, an opportunity to reward that generation who have known only hardship yet still loyally support their Sky Blue heroes.
For one evening please put all protests to one side, raise your cards, raise your voices and get behind the Show Your Colours initiative.
