Coventry City have asked Peterborough for another 1,000 tickets to add to the 1,200 already sold.
If all of the ticket are sold it would see the largest away following of the season, surpassing the 2,120 who travelled to Nottingham Forest in December.
The interest in the away game at Peterborough has been put down to the resurgence of form and the sudden rise up the Championship league table, leading to talk of an outside chance of Coventry sneaking into the play off places and the relatively short distance from Coventry to Peterborough.
Commercial director of CCFC, Nathan Kosky said, “Peterborough normally average around 8,000 fans a game, so if we have more than 2,000 Sky Blues fans then it will have the feel of a cup match and I’m sure our supporters will make it sound like a home game. It helps that Peterborough is only an hour away and everything is suggesting that it’s going to be an electric atmosphere at London Road.”
Coventry have asked for the extra ticket and hope to have them available for sale on Wednesday 3rd March, but fans are advised to check www.ccfc.co.uk or call 0844 873 1883 before setting off to the Ricoh.
