Sky Blues Keeper Crisis

Coventry City have major concerns on the goal keeping front with the news that Ian Bennett looks unlikely to be returning to Highfield Road to see out the season.

The keeper rated by many City supporters told the CET that he has other options and is looking for a permanent deal either at Birmingham or elsewhere.

Having used up all his permitted loans by signing Lloyd Dyer and Shaun Goater, City boss Micky Adams knows that he would have the offer Bennett a reasonably long term contract on the same sort of money he could expect elsewhere.

Scott Shearer may have to be recalled from his loan at Rushden & Diamonds, if he has decided not to move to Doncaster Rovers.

If the Scot feels his future lies elsewhere then Luke Steele will regain his place for the last seven league matches with Jonny Tuffey being promoted from the reserves to become the second choice keeper.
