RUSSELL SLADE ON NEED FOR CCFC TO BE REBUILT

Coventry City manager Russell Slade has said that the Sky Blues need to be rebuilt.

Slade was brought in after supporter pressure and results forced out Mark Venus, but has only won one league game following his appointment just before Christmas.

Most City supporters know what the problems are with the club and it appears that Slade has now found them out by saying to the Coventry Observer; “We have to sit back and break things down a little bit.

“It’s easy to come out with generalised statements or concerns.

“Often it’s a lot of little things that are needed in the football club.. it’s in the detail.. things that need putting right on and off the field.

“What’s required is a rebuilding job at the football club and putting steps in place for the club to build on a solid foundation.

“Lots of little things need addressing going forward.”

Many City supporters took to social media at the weekend following the defeat to Swindon to call for Slade to be sacked and when asked if he would be around if and when Sisu Capital Limited, Otium Entertainment Group and Sky Blues Sports & Leisure who own and run the club make those changes, Slade said: “Between now and the end of the season we’ll sit down and talk about it.

“I love managing a football team. I wanted to come here. I still think I can help this club in the short-term and long-term but there are certain things we need to address.

“The end of the season will be an opportunity to do that.

“In the short-term, we need to fight. Who knows, if we win three games…

“There is no way we will be giving up. If we pick up three points on Tuesday, then we’ll go again on Saturday (against Shrewsbury). Every game is a big game.”
