Slade: An Opportunity For Us To React

Coventry City manager Russell Slade has said that tomorrow night's EFL Trophy Quarter-Final at Swansea City U21's provides an opportunity for the club to react after three defeats in the last five games.

City are unbeaten in this competition, having beaten West Ham U23's, Northampton, Wycombe, Crawley and Brighton U21's and travel to Swansea for the game at the Liberty Stadium which kicks off at 7.30pm.

Slade told Laura Hunter: “Confidence can trigger real positive momentum, we need that sooner rather than later. The next opportunity is tomorrow in the cup. It’s a very fine line between success and failure and we’re living proof of that.

“We’ve managed to get a player in this morning, that is a positive start to the week. Hopefully we’ll have another body in the building before Saturday too. We’re looking tighter at the back, but need to strengthen in the middle and forward areas.

“The prize is a trip to Wembley, there are incentives. We’re part of the final eight, it is an opportunity for us to react as a football club and get in to the final four. The fans haven’t had a lot to cheer about all season, it has been a real slog, but hopefully this is a bit of excitement.”
