Coventry City young striker Callum Wilson has said that speaking to youngster about racism is important.

Wilson, who has missed a chunk of the season with a shoulder injury which he sustained in the friendly at Hinckley United, was speaking at an event at the Ricoh Arena, attended by over one hundred local primary school children as part of a Show Racism The Red Card conference.

Speaking to the club website, Wilson (pictured above) who was at the conference along with Jordan Clarke, Dave Bennett and Dean Gordon, said: "Events like this are important because it gets the message out to young children in schools and the earlier we get the message out the better it will be.

"It's important we speak to the younger generation through organisations like Show Racism the Red Card to let them know right from wrong. If we continue putting this message across then slowly I think racism in sport and in general will fade out."
