Sphinx Sports & Social beat Brooklands Jag Reserves 9-3 in a Boyd Carpenter Cup clash this afternoon.
With the game having to take place at Coventry Copsewood due to Sphinx's first team being at home, Shaun Sweeney's team took the lead in the ninth minute through Chris Harris.
Jack Cudworth made it two on 25 minutes before the visitors pulled one back four minutes later.
Into the second half and former Coventry City youngster Tom Cudworth hit a third in the 54th minute, quickly followed by goals for Justin Bowen and substitute Steve Minshull, who also made it 6-1 in the 74th minute.
Brooklands scored twice in the 83rd and 85th minute but there was still time for Tom Cudworth to get a hat-trick with goals in the 85th and 89th minute and for Minshull to do the same with an 87th minute goal that helped Sphinx Sports & Social to a 9-3 win and a place in the next round.
Next Saturday, there is more cup action with an away game at Triumph Reserves in the Telegraph Junior Cup.
