Coventry Sphinx won 1-0 at Ellesmere Rangers tonight in a Midland Alliance fixture.
Ashley Jackson won an early corner before a 27th minute free kick from Josh Ruff was cleared away in a half where the official missed plenty of off the ball incidents.
In the 64th minute after several corners, Sphinx took the lead when Jamie McAteer scored.
Sphinx keeper Carl O'Neill made a great save from a free kick as the referee missed another shocking tackle.
Danny McSheffrey's side kept going and took the full points from their longest league trip of the season.
