Spread The Coventry City Word

Coventry City supporters are being asked to spread the word about the Sky Blues in a poster campaign.

Aimed at increasing attendances at the Ricoh Arena, City boss Chris Coleman said about the scheme to the club website: "Our fans have been brilliant this season and we are keen to get the biggest possible crowds to the Ricoh.

"I know lots of our supporters often ask the question of how they can help. I know of some fans who have even gone to the lengths of setting up a scheme with local schools to help bring in more supporters.

"We wouldn't expect everyone to do that but by displaying this poster and generally spreading the word about Coventry City, it will show others just what the club means to so many."

City's Commercial Manager Nathan Kosky commented:
"In light of the economic climate, we are pleased to have an increase in the number of supporters coming to home matches, which not many clubs can say at the moment.

"Our aim, however, is to push the average gate to nearer 20,000 from around 17,500 and we hope this idea gives supporters a visible way to get involved themselves, as this is their club.

"Fan power is a massive part of our success on a match day, so this gives supporters a chance to be part of the build-up alongside all the other coverage ahead of the game.

"We continue to repeat the message that adults can come to the Ricoh for less than £20 per game and that JSBs under the age of seven are free, but this will act as a permanent reminder wherever people see it.

"Fans can display it anywhere that is legal! In their factory, their office, their home, their school, their shop window, and even their sports team's changing rooms.

"The more people see how proud the city is of our club, the more support we will get through the turnstiles."
