Coventry City went down to a 2-0 defeat against Tottenham Hotspur.

Tottenham managed by former Sky Blue Perry Suckling,a man I was lucky to have a brief chat with before the game which kicked off late were forced into a change within seven minutes of the start when Spurs keeper Richard Stroud dived at the feet of Lourougnon and had to be replaced by a keeper summoned from the U16 game on a nearby pitch at the Alan Higgs Centre.

The North Londoners were an organised outfit
,playing some good football and had the better of the opening period and in fact the match.
The side which contained the sons of Chris Hughton and Alvin Martin took the lead in the 35th minute when Jon Obika crossed from the right and saw his effort creep into the net.

Considering that the second year players in the City team find out on Tuesday whether they will be offered a contract for next season and Iain Dowie now watching the second half, you would have thought that Brian Borrows side would have raised their game and started to have a go at Spurs.

Cov Kid Keiran Fitzharris did have one shot which the substitute keeper saved but in the 52nd minute Spurs wrapped up the match thanks to David Hutton being left unmarked on the right hand side of the penalty area to slot the ball past Belford from eight yards.

Coventry offered little for the remainder of the game and finished well beaten.
