"We still have a lot of work to do and if we can further improve it in this window we will do so. We will certainly go back in again in the next window, so we are not going to rest on what we have got," said the City boss to the CT.
"We don't want to settle for mediocrity and are not going to be happy winning the odd game and keeping our heads above water.
"We want to march on, we want to get up the league and be in the top half by Christmas and then see where we can go from there.
"So in terms of the squad, we have got to keep improving it and keep attracting new players and come the end of the season we want to be in the mix where there is a lot of pressure.
"But, for the right reasons, we want to go up rather than hanging on with five games to go, saying we have managed to stay in the league, because that is not positive."
