As expected Stern John has completed a move to Derby County on loan until December with a view to a permanent move when the transfer window opens. The Trinidadian joined City from Birmingham City in September 2004 for £250,000.
Known for his laid back style, John regained his form after being abused during the 2-0 home defeat by Burnley in February to end last season with a twelve goal tally. The distances he travel on international duty with Trinidad & Tobago have not gone down well with Micky Adams or his predecessor Peter Reid, with Adams unhappy at having to rest the striker after a midweek international and this is believed to be why he has been allowed to leave.
Paul Watson was immediately signed on a non-contract basis. The left back had a good pre-season and has done well for the reserves this term on a non-contract basis and is admired by both Adams and Cork. Andy Impey, formerly with QPR,West Ham,Leicester, Forest and Millwall was also signed and the duo will go into the squad for the trip to Brighton. Both are eligible to play for the first and reserve team but will not be paid by CCFC.
