Speaking to the CT at the usual press conference which was followed by the club's photocall, Dowie said: "I think we have still got a hell of a lot to do.
"We are a million miles away from a complete side but, the one thing we are is a very, very focused bunch of individuals at the moment which is fantastic.
"Now, if the lads were to continue that it would be tremendous - but we can't get carried away four games in.
"If we are still up there after ten games then maybe we can start reflecting but we will talk about that after another six games, so it is far too early to talk about that.
"I just think we have created a good environment where people enjoy coming to work. "And testimony to that is that even people who are not in the team enjoy coming to work.
"The lads are performing at a very good level. How far that takes us, given a bit of luck and a fair wind, we would like it to be as far as possible."
"If you listen to the lads there is a belief around the camp. "Now we have to keep doing what we have done well and the reason we are where we are is because we have worked as hard as anyone, and often harder, and we have been prepared to work for our team-mates. If someone makes a mistake someone else will cover."
