Still Some Business To Do - Mowbray

Coventry City manager Tony Mowbray has said that he still has some business to do when the loan window opens on Tuesday.

Mowbray, who now has six players on loan following the sale of James Maddison to Norwich City, told the Coventry Telegraph: “I think there’s still some more business to do.

“We have hopefully addressed things at the back with Jack Stephens and Baily Cargill and it’s the top end of the pitch we’re looking at now.

“We’re looking at the addition of goals to our team. I am pretty conscious of international breaks coming up so there’s the potential for the young players disappearing over a week or two.”

“I have had one or two conversations and I would be pretty hopeful that we’ll have one or two more additions in the next few weeks when the window opens again,” confirmed Mowbray

“It’s not what we had planned,” said the 52-year-old, who had hoped to upgrade Gael Bigirimana’s loan to a permanent deal rather than extend it in January (the midfielder, ironically, likely to be one of those to sit out the most).

“It takes us into that uncomfortable zone of having conversations with players on a weekly basis but as I keep saying to them it’s nothing personal and we all have one aim, and that’s to improve the club and get ourselves in a position where we can get out of this league.”
