Dowie, who is expected to complete the £350,000 deal for Daniel Fox tomorrow and get possibly another two players in before the transfer window closes next Thursday, said to the CT: "We had 22 to 23 shots against Burnley and the more you watch it the more you think the result is a travesty.
"We keep losing games we should win and we have got to stop doing that. The two goals we conceded were poor and we had some great chances that we couldn't take.
"But it is something we are trying to address and when we get the right people in the building then I think that will improve. "We worked on putting more shots and crosses in and we achieved that.
"On another day their keeper doesn't have such an inspired day and we win the game - even Owen Coyle said that is was the most they have been under the cosh.
"It is seconds, fractions and yards in games at the moment and we are not doing that, so we have got to keep going, put our home form right and keep building away.
"We have got a tough one at Hull next week but let's deal with Saturday first - and if we can get some bodies in it will give everyone a lift."
