Former Coventry City youngster Danny Sturridge is expected to join Liverpool when the transfer window re-opens in January.
The Guardian are quoting a fee of around £12m for the former Coventry Academy player who has also played for Manchester City and Bolton Wanderers on loan.
Sturridge has only had one Premier League start for Chelsea this season.
