Davenport was on loan at Sunderland last season from West Ham and played in eight of the nine games at the end of the season which helped to keep The Mackams in the Premier League.
West Ham are reported as looking at £1.75m for the 26 year old Bedford born player who came through City's Academy and was sold to Tottenham to appease the bank manager on August 31st 2004 for a fee of £1.1m.
According to The Chronicle, a source said to them about Davenport: "Of course Calum's still interested in moving to Sunderland.
"He loved the club, the people and staff there and fitted in well with the other players. He loved his time in the North East, and if there was a chance to go back he would definitely be interested.
"Of course, with there being a new manager next season he's not really sure where he stands. It all depends on whether Steve Bruce sees a role for him."
According to the Birmingham biased Sunday Mercury,Davenport is also a target for Wolves.
