Former Coventry City striker Marc McNulty is a target for Sunderland AFC, according to the Sunderland Echo and others.
McNulty scored 28 goals for the Sky Blues last season, helping them back into League One before leaving for a move to Reading.
Since joining the Championship side, he has struggled to get in the team on a regular basis and is reported as being amongst a group of players that the Royals are looking to off-load and a group which is training away from the rest of the team.
Sunderland, looking to get out of League One at the first opportunity, had been making bids to sign Will Grigg. However, the Northern Ireland international is now injured and any move for him in this transfer window looks unlikely.
