Coventry City midfielder Conor Thomas feels that City have to take the positives from the cup defeat against Southampton and move on.
Speaking to Sky Blue Player, Thomas said: “We would have liked to push on further in the competition and with us doing well in the first-half; I thought we had a chance.
"But after the break, they upped the tempo and a few mistakes cost us in the end. Obviously we are disappointed and the gaffer has said that we can't keep making the same excuses every week.
"We know we have to cut out a few mistakes and now we can concentrate on the league and improve our performances there.
"We need to take the positives out of this and make sure we begin to push on, starting with next week against Derby."
