Tescos To Close Barrier On Match Day Parking

The Tescos at Arena Park is to have its car park barriers shut on match days to prevent supporters from parking there.
Covsupport understands that the move comes through pressure from Coventry City Council who are concerned that supporters parking at the retail store means they are not in "official" car parks and therefore, not generating money for the Council. Tesco's staff and others have been given a special code  to enable them to use the car park.
Centre manager of Arena Park,Merrick Clarke is quoted by the CET as saying:"We were going to bring the system in for the next game. "We didn't want to muddy the waters for the first match at the Arena but on September 10 we will have the barriers down. "What we've got to ensure that the car park is for the use of shoppers."

To avoid paying a £50 penalty at the game against Reading and subsequent other matches, supporters will have to either spend £25 in Tescos or in any of the stores at Arena Park and have their receipt stamped.
Unless you are doing your weekly shop and/or are likely to spend £25 or more at any of the stores, Covsupport advises not using these stores on a matchday and finding somewhere else to park legally.
