A Worthwhile Effort
Overnight from Friday 25th to Saturday 26th January, up until 3pm kick off in the game between Coventry City and Blackpool FC, members of the Jimmy Hill Way Campaign slept rough outside the Ricoh. This activity helped raise awareness that the Sky Blues could be homeless, just 3 months from now.
It was also aimed at raising money for the Hope Coventry Winter Night Shelter which provides much-needed support to the homeless people of the City.
I am delighted to announce that cash donations alone have brought in £1,218.04 which will be handed over later this week.
We know that others have made direct donations via PayPal to hopecoventry.org.uk/donate/ which has the advantage of adding Gift Aid to your contribution.
We do not yet have a figure for direct donations and you can still send funds, please specify Coventry Winter Night Shelter (as Hope runs other projects) and mention The Jimmy Hill Way in the “Other Info”.
As well as wonderful contributions from Coventry City supporters, I would like to praise the generosity of Blackpool Supporters Trust and other Blackpool fans who added significantly to our fundraising effort.
