That would lift Jorge Rubenstein to the top of the list of candidates. Mr Rubenstein, who is Portuguese is a part-time football agent and head honcho for a UK-based Investment fund. He has links to Best Holdings Ltd who have already been shown around the club.
A consortium fronted by Graeme Souness is one possibility. Rumours that he was at the Ricoh on Saturday and stayed the night at Coombe Abbey have not been properly denied but this consortium which may or may involved Paul Fletcher is thought not to have enough funds to be serious contenders.
Our very good friends at GMK have suggested a consortium fronted by Ray Ranson. A man who did very well out of Leeds United, Ray Ranson has bid for Aston Villa and Southampton.
City's Board are due to meet this afternoon to discuss a deal on the table which will have to meet the approval of ACL, The City Council,Alan Higgs Charity and The Co-Op Bank.
