Andy Morrell thought he had got one up on Micky Adams when the former City striker scored for Blackpool against Colchester at Bloomfield Road but Mark Yeates scored twice in a 2-2 draw.
Former City youngsters Martin Devaney scored the winner for Barnsley in a 3-2 win at Southampton. There were also Championship wins for Palace, West Brom and bottom side Sheffield Wednesday.
