There was only one cup shock today and that was in the Coventry Telegraph Cup Quarter-Final, where Christ The King beat holders Coventry Sphinx 1-0. A good crowd at Norman Place Road Road saw Sean Gormley give Kings a 12th minute lead. Not helped by a small pitch and some strange refereeing decisions, Sphinx never really got into the game. A Chris Harris header just over the bar from a Callum Woodward cross was all Sphinx had to show for this cup exit.
Bristol City who beat the Sky Blues in the FA Cup Third Round came from two goals down to draw 2-2 at home to Premier League Middlesbrough whilst Blackpool drew 1-1 at home to Norwich City. Darren Huckerby put the Canaries ahead but the singing stopped when Coventry kid Ian Evatt who is on loan from QPR equalised.

City's next opponents Luton Town lost 4-0 at home to Blackburn Rovers whilst Robbie Keane scored for Spurs in a 3-1 win over Southend.

Championship sides in the Fifth Round draw are Ipswich who beat Swansea 1-0,Preston 2-0 winners at Crystal Palace,Plymouth,2-0 winners at Barnet and Derby who beat Bristol Rovers 1-0.

Gary McSheffrey played for Birmingham City in a 3-2 home defeat by Reading whilst Stoke lost 3-0 at Fulham.

There was only one game in the Championship and Cardiff City's 3-2 win over Leicester sees the Sky Blues remain 16th in the table. Cardiff are up to sixth thanks to the hat-trick from Michael Chopra. In League One,Scunthorpe are three points clear after a 3-0 home win over Millwall.

Locally, Nuneaton Borough won 1-0 at Farsley Celtic but Rugby Town lost 3-0
at Maidenhead United and Bedworth drew 0-0 at Aylesbury United.

Goals from Jamie Towers and Martin Thompson gave Leamington a 2-0 League Cup win at Biddulph Victoria whilst in the Midland Alliance League, the derby between Racing Club Warwick and Atherstone Town saw a 2-2 draw.

Stratford who face leaders Leamington on Tuesday night, drew 0-0 with Westfields.
