Coventry City keeper Joe Murphy felt that it was his day to shine in the 3-1 win at Rotherham United.
Murphy made a string of wonderful saves in the opening forty five minutes to see City go in at the break only a goal down and saved a penalty in second half stoppage time to deny the Millers getting the game back to 2-2.
The Republic Of ireland international told Alan Poole of the Coventry Telegraph: “I made a few saves in the first half but it was just my day,” said Murphy who has now saved three from six spot-kicks this season.
“I know Micky O’Connor from Scunthorpe when we used to have penalty competitions and he usually puts them the other side, so I thought he’d put it the other way.
“It’s as good as scoring a goal for a goalkeeper and then when we went up the other end and scored it was brilliant and I couldn’t help go up and join the celebrations.”
