Coventry City manager Steven Pressley felt that his side's 2-0 JPT victory over Plymouth Argyle was one small step.
Pressley told the Coventry Telegraph's Alan Poole: “It was progress, small progress but I’ve told the players that’s merely one step, the first of so many we’ve got to take to get over Sunday.
“We’ve got a lot of work to do before we that to bed because, as I said the other day, that was unacceptable for this proud football club.
“We reacted in the way I would expect from players when their pride is hurt and in the end we got a well-deserved victory. But the one thing that never changes in football is hard work – that’s what wins you games.
“There was no message at all – I gave them a couple of tactical reminders but there was no message needed because they knew what they had to do.
“Their reaction was terrific – I’m very proud of it – but that’s the type of performance I accept from a Coventry City side.
“Everybody that came here tonight was looking for that response and I have to thank the supporters tonight because they were brilliant – brilliant with the players, brilliant with me – and I really appreciate that support just now because it’s been really difficult for everybody. The pain has been incredible.”
