The 36 Station Tube trek from Dagenham to Ealing is over – as ‘Robert Falcon Scott might of said ‘God this is a dreadful place’ and to be fair the fare served up was frankly poor.
Certainly the snacks that RFS left in his tent would have been more appetizing and the huskies might have done a better job than the District Line !
This was 1983/84 but ‘less a bit’ but far far worse than that sunny day a Vicarage Road. It is early days and one must give Thorny and his team the benefit of the doubt – I certainly will (well for a month or two anyway). So I will say little or nothing about the game but focus on a the individuals.
But first of all never have I seen Programmes delivered to a ground with only 15 minutes remaining before the start of a match. Yes I know I often receive my PUSB Mag after the match has been played, but I never read it anyway !
Was this a case of No Programmes unless you send over the cash ? Who knows but it was decent programme with detailed pen pictures of the new squad.
Joe – solid as rock not a spillage
Jordan – OK but got caught out of position a bit
Hussey – no comment but had a stinker
Wood – As strong as a Sheffield Forge Master
Brown – Pretty good – better than his older brother
Kilbane – looked his age but regained his strength to ram home the pen – sports a natty beard (probably wants to be a woodwork teacher)
McSheffrey – not a great display
Prancing Pony – started well (looking more like a dressage horse) but faded towards the end
Daniels – sang a better song than his namesake. Looked good but must get involved more
Ball – did not see enough of it
Cody – I was expecting more but ran around a lot
There were subs but some new faces and the match heading towards extra time and I was thinking of those 36 stations and getting very cross
Att 1900 (say 500 CCFC fans- who were moaning a lot)
