Coventry City manager Andy Thorn has admitted that he was very disappointed with the standard of City's defending in the 4-2 loss to Southampton.
Speaking to BBC Coventry & Warwickshire's Geoff Foster, Thorn, who had his back four players in the treatment room after the match, said: "Defensively we were poor and I expect more.
"We showed good character and spirit and I was pleased with the application we showed to get back to 2-2 but when you give goals away the way we did, it is disappointing.
"I am disappointed but we have to go on.
"The first half I thought we looked nervy. We changed systems twice and then again at half-time. We got one and then Platty got us level.
"But it was probably a step too far and having to make the substitutions early, the players tired and we gave away two sloppy goals."
