Thorn Glad Of Midweek Break

Coventry City manager Andy Thorn has said he is glad that City did not have a midweek fixture.

Whilst the likes of Portsmouth, Forest and Doncaster who face Birmingham City tonight much to the disgust of their manager Dean Saunders, all had midweek games, City had the week without a game and speaking to the CT’s Andy Turner, Thorn said: “I was pleased that the boys had a rest because it was a tough week last week, but part of me wishes we had had a game ourselves to keep things going.

“But it’s nice that the boys have been able to freshen their legs and if I can keep everyone injury free I’ll be pleased. We have got Gael Bigirimana back on it and fresh for the last seven games and I have no doubt we will need Gary Deegan as well, so it’s important he was freshened up as well.

“Everyone in the squad will be called upon between now and the end of the season.”
