Coventry City manager Andy Thorn has said he has not given up hope that his Icelandic midfielder Aron Gunnarsson will agree to remain at Coventry City.
The 22 year old Gunnarsson is currently on his summer break having been involved in his country's under 21 European Championships and will miss next weeks training camp in Portugal's Algarve region.
Gunnarsson Coventry City contract expires on on July 1st, which is next Friday and he has already rejected the initial offer from the club. If he does decide his future lies elsewhere the club will be entitled to compensation from his new club despite his being out of contract because he is only 22 years old.
Thorn said, “The situation is on-going and we’ll wait and see what Aron wants to do.”
