Coventry City manager Andy Thorn has received an apology from David Allison, the National Group manager after disallowing Nathan Cameron’s goal on Saturday.
Thorn had phone to complain that the 24th minute goal should not have been ruled out, something backed by the television evidence and the City supporters at the game.
Speaking to the CT’s Andy Turner, Thorn said: “I had a phone call on Monday morning apologising for the disallowed goal, which I knew I’d get anyway.
“I asked if we could have the two points as well but they couldn’t do that.
“I phoned the head of referees after the game on Saturday and left a message because I felt it was an injustice. I also got an apology for the penalty against Crystal Palace so I am getting used to them now but I would sooner things go our way.
“Everyone is human and they do have a tough job to do, but if you are not 110% certain, you can’t make those decisions. We watched it back again and again and it’s just incredible but we have to move on.
“We have had enough apologies and kicks this season so I am sure we’ll come through this one.”
