Former Coventry City midfielder Kevin Thornton has signed for Northampton Town on a short term contract.
The midfielder, who has played for Coventry Sphinx and Nuneaton Town in the last few months in a bid to get back his fitness and win a contract at a league club has impressed Northampton boss Paul Sampson after a short trial.
Speaking to the BBC, Sampson said: "He's a ball-playing midfielder who can create things. "We are willing to give him a chance and an opportunity,
"We are always looking for players that we feel will improve the squad and I feel Kevin will do that. "He is a good footballer and I am sure he will fit in well."
