The deal was completed today and will see the Irishman who has made over fifty appearances for the Sky Blues.
He joins a Brighton side managed by Micky Adams, under whom he signed a two year deal and will play alongside Andy Whing and Colin Hawkins and has gone straight into the squad to play at Northampton Town tomorrow.
Meanwhile, Gary Borrowdale started for Colchester United away at Tranmere Rovers.
