Thousands of Coventry City supporters took the opportunity to give the Coventry City squad a heroes welcome as they headed off to a civic reception hosted by the Lord Mayor of Coventry John Blundell, following promotion back to League One after their 3-1 win against Exeter City at Wembley Stadium on Monday afternoon..
City boarded the bus and left Ryton shortly after 5pm and made their way through a number of areas in the eastern side of the City towards Town.
They stopped for a minutes applause in Longfellow Road at the site where Corey and Casper Platt-May were tragically killed and headed past the crowds on Ball Hill down Gosford Street and into Broadgate, where there were thousands more City supporters waiting for Mark Robins and the rest of the players.
