"Three games in a week for me is crazy and I don't know why we do it," Coleman said to the club website.
"We know we're going to play Saturday/Saturday or Saturday/Sunday in the league but to have a cup game in the middle of the first week is barmy for me but then again who am I to say?
"We've dealt well with the fixtures and we approached the game against Aldershot in a professional manner. We wanted to win that game and keep it going and now we've won at Barnsley to add to the three points we got against Norwich despite not playing very well.
"But we're not going to get carried away. Last year Coventry were top of the table at the start of September I understand and we know what happened after that.
"We will get fitter and better and the important thing is to keep picking points up."
