Coventry City manager Andy Thorn has told his players they need to stand up and be counted.
Speaking to the CT's Alan Poole after the 2-1 defeat to Portsmouth on Saturday, Thorn said: “It was weak-minded and now it’s time for us to be men, to stand up and be counted.
"They’re an honest bunch who give it everything they’ve got; football wise we can match any team but we’ve got to be stronger, we’ve got cut out the individual errors.
“I’ve told them that we can’t carry on defending the way we are at the moment because we’re giving ourselves mountains to climb every week.
“We know where we are as a team.
"We’re in games all the time, we’re not being turned over three or four every week, but we’re not streetwise – we don’t kill sides off when we’re ahead and we give stupid goals away.
“We had a go in the second half, played some nice football and scored a terrific goal, but it’s the same story every week – we give them a goal, get back into it, give them another goal and then go home!”
