Today saw the second Supporters Consultative Group (SCG) meeting held at the Ricoh, and as always some lively debate ensued especially around the proposed positioning of the away support for next season, more of this later.
The meeting kicked off with round table introductions, followed by updates on the minutes and action points from the January meeting. Amongst these were the confirmation that the club will be pursuing the ‘sale' of CCFC match day mascots, either via Ebay or a proposed new football special auction website. The Operation Premiership CD idea is on hold until more immediate matters within the club (i.e./. the managerial recruitment) are completed.
We finally saw on Sundays Championship edition that the correct club crest was finally used and this followed good work by Jo Lumani.
Jo then advised that the Championship will be here at the weekend to do a feature on the former players association and the parade before the match against Cardiff, which will be a welcome increase in coverage on the Championship. In addition there will be a 3rd film crew from Malta present at the Ricoh which is down to the high profile the club now has in Malta following Mifsud's arrival. Apparently he is seen as the Michael Owen of Malta!!
This prompted a question about having a pre-season match in Malta to further build on this profile, but at this stage there are no plans for any pre-season matches as this will be left to the new manager to decide and plan.
Discussions moved on to investment in Coventry City and we were advised that this topic was high on the clubs agenda with a bid under consideration by the board but naturally further details could not be passed to us. As a result of this the agenda item from last month's meeting concerning shares being made available for supporters is on hold until the review process is complete.
