Press Release

December 14th 2007

The Sky Blue Trust responds to news that Ray Ranson and SISU have been successful in the purchase of Coventry City Football Club.

The Sky Blue Trust is delighted that the takeover deal has finally been completed today (Friday 14th December) and we call on Ray Ranson to keep the lines of communication with the Trust open.

With rumours circulating among supporters that administration was hours away it is a relief to all supporters that the future of Coventry City Football Club has been secured, and the Trust will be seeking a commitment from the new owners regarding the continuation of the Supporters Consultation Group, the issuing of shares for purchase by supporters and further, the aim of supporter representation on the board of the club.

Coventry
City
supporters have been through the darkest times in recent memory and now the Trust would urge all those supporters who have been staying away from the Ricoh to make a welcomed return to support the team on the field.

Blame or retribution is not what we need at this stage, but a calm and rational assessment of how and why we reached the point of near financial meltdown to ensure that we never again even come close to it. Let us all be clear that it is a fundamental need of the football club to be more open and transparent with its affairs.

We urge all supporters to join the Trust as a sign that all followers of Coventry City FC want to play an active role in the long-term future of our football club.
