Members of the Sky Blue Trust met the Coventry City Board this morning ahead of the board meeting this afternoon.
They were asked for the top three nominations for a manager which will be taken into consideration when they draw up their own short list at which point the Trust will be consulted again.
The Board said "It is cautious to make the right decision in its next choice of manager" Hence the unprecedented move to involve supporters in the selection process.
The club however, will not announce the name of any candidate who is currently in employment in the football industry due to confidentuality.
Both the club and Trust agreed that a new manager will need to bring stability and growth to the playing front.
The Trust will follow up this with details of how all fans can have their say in the selection of the three names for the new manager.
Coventry City's board were left in no doubt that the strength of feeling about the new badge would drive a massive wedge between the club and supporters.
The Trust empathized the overwhelming majority of fans rejecyted the new badge design and expressed their concern about the negative impact, that it would have on the club if it were to be introduced.
Chairman Mike McGinnity did agree that consultation should have taken place with supporters prior to any decision being made about any rebranding. The Trust wish to state that compromise over the badge is a very, very, very last resort if all else fails.
