The Sky Blue Trust warmly applauds the recent decision by Coventry City Football Club to back the Football Supporters’ Federation (FSF) ‘Twenty’s Plenty Campaign’ by capping the price of away tickets at the Ricoh Arena at £20 for the forthcoming 2015/16 season.Visiting fans will pay £20 for an adult ticket, £15 for concessions and £7 for juniors.
Together with the reduced pricing structure for home supporters, this move by CCFC shows recognition by the Club Directors and Management that both home and away fans are a vital ingredient of match-days: without fans there is no football.
Coventry City are the first League One club to get behind this FSF initiative. Our club has a long tradition of pioneering steps that improve the experience for fans; in the 1960s and 70s the Sky Blues were as famous for innovation, as for their achievements on the football pitch. The Trust is delighted to welcome this pricing policy that shows our club being at the head of the pack once again.
We also join calls from CCFC and the FSF for other League One clubs to reciprocate this move so that travelling City fans can also enjoy fair pricing when attending away matches.
After all the problems of recent years, the Trust looks forward to seeing further steps from the Club’s owners and managers which will rebuild the relationship with supporters and regain the confidence of Sky Blues fans.
