Coventry City manager Steven Pressley has denied accusations that Marcus Tudgay is happy just to pick up his wages.
Tudgay has dropped out of the first team reckoning and has been playing for City U21's and the City boss told the Coventry Telegraph's Andy Turner: “Not at all, Marcus is not that type.
“He’s honest and he realises he has to do better. But the one thing about him is I would never question him as a character or as a player; he just needs to turn things around.
"He accepts that his time here hasn’t been as fruitful as he would have hoped but he also has a determination because I have spoken to him about turning this around.
“He’s working hard but I know he expects more from himself and he feels he hasn’t yet hit the heights that he expects from himself.
"We have looked at a lot of things and into reasons and the one thing that stands out is that he has to continue to work exceptionally hard to turn that around because the only way things will turn around is by hard work and perseverance, and he accepts that.”
