Marcus Tudgay has said that he is ready to go if Coventry City manager Tony Mowbray requires him against Barnsley tonight.
Tudgay, who scored against Fleetwood Town on Saturday after coming on as a substitute, told the Coventry Telegraph: "I am not a whinger and someone to go banging on his door – maybe a little knock at times but at the end of the day you can knock a hundred times and if the manager has his own ideas you are never going to change their ways.
“I respect the gaffer, I like him and like his ways and he treats me well. He’s a good manager to play for and hopefully my spell on the pitch will give him a little bit of food for thought and, if called upon on Tuesday, I will be ready to go.”
Tudgay has been told that he would be available for loan if he wants to look for more regular football, but the veteran appears keen to tough it out and hope to get more game time at City.
“I don’t rule anything out.
“If my agent rings and says there’s something that’s feasible for me and my family then I’ll look at it. I’m a hands on dad and like to be around my family daily so it has to be right.
“But at the minute I will keep myself fit, keep working hard and when called upon, like Saturday, I will be ready to go and make an impact. I’d love to play a part to the end of the season.”
