Blair Turgott has said that he is looking for more appearances for Coventry City.
Turgott came on as Barnsley on Tuesday night and the former West Ham youngster told the Coventry Telegraph's Andy Turner: “It was a special occasion for me to get on the pitch and try to help the team get something out of the game.
“I have been here a while now and I have had to wait for my time to impress and hopefully I have shown that I can play more often and hopefully get a start. .
“That’s what I am all about and I just tried to make an impact using my speed and getting some crosses into the box.
“Neil MacFarlane told me to go on and try to win the game for us and hopefully people saw that I did my best to try to make that happen.
“I am a confident player. It has been good to get some games with the Under-21s, score a couple of goals and get some 90 minutes under my belt, which is what I needed, and hopefully I have caught the manager’s eye and Neil’s eye and will maybe be used a bit more in the first team.”
“The new gaffer has told us the sort of manager he is and that everyone will get their chance to impress him, He said he was going to be watching the Barnsley game closely and crack on with the training.
“I was at West Ham which is obviously a big club where I wasn’t getting in the first team so I took a step out to come here. I don’t see that as a step back but just a step I have had to take in my career to show what I am about and push on and help Coventry go forward.
“Hopefully I have given a taste of what I am about and I’m just going to keep working hard in training and I’m sure my chance will come. Coventry have shown faith in me by giving me a contract and I’d like to repay that.”
