Turner Back To Training

Coventry City defender Ben Turner has returned to full training.

The defender, will have an operation in the summer on his troublesome ankle to remove some floating bone and he has been helped by a cortisone injection.

“My ankle needs tidying up because it is a bit messy in there,” said Turner who has been out since November to the CT.

“I ruptured my ligaments in training and as I did it some of the bone broke away at the back of my ankle and there are a few bits sat in there now.

“I came back and was on the bench at Plymouth and then just after Christmas I went in for a tackle in training and it flared up again because the bits of bone were pressing on my tendons and I was in constant pain and couldn’t run.

“So I had an injection to reduce the swelling to hopefully get me through to the end of the season and then in the summer I have got to have them taken out.

“I was back running this week and it felt quite good so I am hopefully training with the lads tomorrow and will take it from there.

“I am really pleased because I was getting really worried and thinking I have got to get the op done and start again.

“I just hope everything is OK when I make a tackle because I can’t have another injection for three months, so if it goes again between now and the end of the season they will have to bring the op forward.

"But the plan is to get to the end of the season and then do an eight week rehab programme so I shouldn’t miss anything.”
